A swashbuckling FANTASY with a sci-fi PREMISE.

steeped in the romantic visual splendour of 17th Century European EMPIRES.

THE BATTLE OF wit and integrity against the intrigues of a politically charged world on the rapier’s edge between annihilation or rebirth.

Evolving from classic storytelling such as Homer’s ‘Odyssey’ and the Russian epic War and Peace, yet with a futuristic design and philosophy akin to The Matrix and Westworld, Aeterna will both surprise and entertain, from the cynical ‘seen it all’ TV geek to the ever hungry, romantic costume drama dreamer.

As a potent drama, Aeterna holds a vital reflection of modern political turmoil and human destiny.

Disclaimer: Unlike so many closed ended, violent tales of the ‘Grimdark’ family that dominate our screens, Aeterna is a refreshing, sophisticated, high production, thrill ride that
embraces beauty, inspiration and hope.

Beyond the darkness, behind reflection, find … Aeterna!

«Aeterna» is a project of a fantasy TV series based on the book cycle named «Gleams of Aeterna» by one of the best writers in Russia, Vera Kamsha. The cycle includes 16 novels and 3 prequel stories. The first book was published in 2004, the 16th final book is planned to come out in 2020.

This is an amazing story about people and their actions during the most difficult time for their world. Heroes and villains accept challenges of fate and make difficult moral choices. They are to find out how the world affects a person and the development of society, to understand and accept the need to live not only in the present day, but to think about the future.

The story unfolds in an imaginary world of Quertiana (one of the many worlds in the big multiverse interconnected in a science-based way), which resembles XVI-XVII century Europe with elements of mystics and magic. This world has a mystical connection to the Earth and other planets of our Galaxy. The events are based on the race of power between two countries and inner struggles within the states. Also there are several mystic powers secretly influencing the situation described wishing to rule the world.

But all these events take place on the background of the forthcoming mystical “reload” of the Mechanism – the program that controls the development of the world. This “reload” happens every 400 years and is able to destroy the world once finished.

An epic fantasy saga set in a world coming to an end.

Teaser Poster

As a marketing tool the teaser poster will evoke a sense of mystery about the world and a single key character. There is an underlying theme that the gods have deserted this land with the broken statue in the foreground. We are establishing the historical period and an ‘other worldly’ fantastical element with the moons. This is seen as something to get the fans excited without revealing any character details.
